These delicious breakfast biscuits are perfect right out of the oven.  Try the biscuits with butter, jams,, or .  Your family will beg you make them with scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon for a scrumptious breakfast sandwich, especially for dinner. This Buttermilk Biscuit Mix also makes amazing or biscuits and sausage gravy - a real Southern staple.

 Recipe

• 1 Package Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
• 1/2 cup butter or shortening
• 3/4 cup whole buttermilk or whole milk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Use a lined baking sheet with parchment paper or nonstick spray.

In a large mixing bowl, blend butter into the biscuit mix with a pastry blender or fork until the mixture reaches a crumb like consistency. 

Next, add milk to make a dough. Knead lightly, to mix only.  On a floured surface, roll out dough 1/2 inch thick.  Cut into 2 1/2 inch rounds and place on prepared baking sheet.

Bake until golden brown on top, about 10 to 12 minutes. Package makes 12-14 biscuits. The results make a delicious and uniquely southern type pan of biscuits.
